3 Tips When Installing a Flat Panel TV in Your Denver Home

Flat panel TVs, commonly known as flat-screen TVs, have heightened the home viewing experience. The right flat panel TV installation can make any media room feel like a movie theater with brighter backlights, larger screens, and crisper pictures. Here are three tips on how to select the best flat panel TV for your media room:

Choose the right type of flat panel TV.

From LCD to LED and OLED to QLCD, it may be hard to determine what TV is best for you. LCD TVs use liquid crystal technology to create sharp colors and high-resolution displays. However, they are limited in their viewing angle and don’t have the best brightness range.

LED TVs use the same tech as LCD TVs but have several LED bulbs that light the screen instead of fluorescent bulbs. This makes LED TVs brighter with a better viewing angle.

QLED TVs are some of the most popular on the market. This is because they are cheaper and more energy efficient than OLED TVs, 50x brighter than LCD TVs, and have wide viewing angles.

OLED TVs have the best image on the market but are much more expensive to manufacture, which raises their retail price. They don’t require a backlight, which makes them thin and sleek. However, they can lose their brightness, and their pixels burn easily.

Desired size of TV

One common TV buying misconception is that bigger is always better. Larger TVs appeal because of the larger picture, but it is much harder for large TVs to support a high-quality image. Each TV of the same resolution has the same amount of pixels, so the larger the TV, the larger the pixels. You'll need more pixels to prevent pixelation, meaning a higher resolution TV.

4k video, streaming at 2160p, is currently the most popular resolution for flat panel TVs. Though technology is advancing, some TVs now offer a resolution of 8k or 4320p. If you're in the market for a large TV for your home theater, you should be looking for at least 4k TVs though an 8k TV may provide an even sharper image and allow you to sit closer to the screen.

Connectability

How many devices are you planning on connecting to your TV? When shopping, you'll need to make sure your TV has enough ports to support all the devices you want to attach. Also, look to see if it connects to wi-fi and includes applications like Hulu and Netflix. Most flat panel TVs created today do, but it's a good idea to double-check to ensure it's compatible with your devices, especially if you want to connect it to a smart home system.
